This Korean Bandai, antique is not a reproduction. The blanket chest is not only functional but an extraordinary piece of history. It made it's way from Korea, as a family heirloom, with a couple who where missionaries, overseas. Their daughter treasured it for many years. Now it's available to be passed down to a new generation. Its handmade charm, wood tone variations, highly ornate white brass plating and hardware make it a beautiful addition to any home. The drop down front has a pull up shelf inside, with easy access, storage underneath.
This handsome chest has the typical proportions of a bandaji, a chest which stored clothing, documents on the bottom, and bedding on top.
Three small, interior drawers also line the top.
Missing: some decorative brass plating and lock bar (as pictured). Plating is nailed and can be removed to match if preferred. (Natural branch dowel or brass rod would make perfect substitute
