What do you do after you’ve set up your boat and then, frustratingly, you find the Centre of Gravity (CG, or the balance point of your boat) is either too far forward or too far aft? Or maybe you upgrade to a more powerful engine and find your boat then runs too loose with the bow too high and the hull porpoising.
To correct these situations you need to move your engine, and that’s usually a time-consuming, even difficult, task of drilling new mount holes in the stringers (with the old holes looking ugly), or even having to fit new stringers.
Now though, Arrow Shark makes it easy to adjust the balance of your boat with our new billet engine mount kit that includes adjustable rails. Five pairs of mounting bolt holes in the rails enable you to initially install the engine on the centre set of holes, and then easily move it forwards or back until your CG is just perfect.
If your boat is running loose, just move the engine forward; if it’s running wet, move it back by one or two holes. Simply un-screw the four mount bolts and slide your engine forward or backward to its next position. The bolt hole spacing allows you to move your engine 30mm at first, and then another 10mm if required for precise adjustment of your boat’s balance. Never has engine positioning been so easy, although please note that you will need to change the length of your flex drive shaft and adjust your throttle linkage to suit the final engine position.
This new Arrow Shark billet mount kit includes our exclusive design CNC rotated carburetor block and short version air venturi to make your engine look as good as it performs. The rotated carburetor block positions your carburetor needle setting screws for easier access, and also gives a more direct and easier alignment for the pushrod to your throttle servo, eliminating the need for bellcranks, cables or other more complicated linkages. The kit comes complete with four rubber mounts, washers and all installation bolts.
